Register for Member Appreciation Barbeque, Friendship Luncheon at 2010 National Money Show

A member appreciation barbeque on March 24 highlights special events at the American Numismatic Association's 2010 National Money ShowTM, March 25-27 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Attendees are also invited to attend the annual Friendship Luncheon, one of the convention's most popular traditions, on March 26.

The member appreciation barbecue will be held March 24 from 6-9 p.m. at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth. This beautiful building began producing United States paper money in 1990. The facility features a Tour and Visitor Center with two floors of interactive exhibits showcasing the history of currency, including live demonstrations, a theater, and a gift shop.

The event will feature guided tours, live music and some of the best barbecued ribs, brisket and chicken in all of Texas. The price is $26 for anyone registering by March 1, and $35 for late registrants. The ANA, Heritage Auction Galleries and NGC will serve as co-hosts to kick off the first-ever National Money Show in Fort Worth. The barbecue is generously sponsored by Dillon Gage Metals of Dallas.

The Friendship Luncheon will be held at Joe T. Garcia's Mexican restaurant on March 26 from noon-2 p.m. Established in 1935, Joe T. Garcia's is one of the Dallas/Fort Worth area's most popular dining spots. The restaurant's authentic Tex-Mex recipes include world-famous enchiladas and salsa sold throughout Texas. The price is $34 until March 1, and $40 after.

The National Money Show is open to the public from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Dealer set-up will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24. Admission is $6 for adults and free for ANA members and children 12 and under.

The Fort Worth Coin Club, Northeast Tarrant Coin Club and Texas Numismatic Association are the host clubs, and the Dallas Coin Club and Mid Cities Coin Club are the honorary host clubs.
